Eco-Warriors

At Airedale Infant Acadmey we strive to look after our environment and encourage everyone to be as eco-friendly as possible. Each year a new team of Eco Warriors will be selected from Reception to 2 who are supported by Mrs Robinson. Each class elects representatives to be their Eco-Warriors. The Eco-Warriors have an active role in school. They raise our awareness about sustainability and encourage everyone to be good at recycling and saving energy. We encourage good habits for the future. Eco-Warrior representatives help the school make decisions and generate ideas for future planning, to increase the school’s awareness of how we can be even more considerate of our world. This team meet regularly with Mrs Robinson to discuss issues, raise awareness through assemblies and check that pupils and staff are contributing to our eco friendly school.

Eco Warriors will be saving energy by making sure they turn out lights not just in their own classroom, but also in rooms where people have left them on and ensuring interactive boards are switched off when not in use.  This half term we purchased paper recycling bins for each classroom so that we can monitor waste paper.

The Eco-Schools programme is focused on nine key topics. These are: Energy; Water ; Biodiversity; School grounds; Healthy living; Transport; Litter; Waste; Global citizenship.

Hey there, couldn’t help noticing you’re using Internet Explorer

That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.

If you’re using Windows 10 and want to stick with a built in browser, please consider switching to Edge. Or, if you really want to enjoy the internet properly we strongly recommend downloading Google Chrome here.
